4.3.3.1 Reliability verification. To determine conformance to 3.2, 3.2.3, and 3.2.3.1, a point estimate value greater than 6,000 mi must be demonstrated during test. The point estimate will be computed using the cumulative test mileage of all trailers divided by the cumulative number of chargeable failures of all trailers.

4.3.3.2 Maintainability verification. To determine conformance to 3.2 and 3.2,4, an MR of less than or equal to that specified in 3.2.4 must be demonstrated during tests. The MR will include all maintenance actions with the exception of driver/crew checks and services, and maintenance induced errors.

4.3.4 Test failure. Failure of the trailer(s) as the result of deficiencies related to design, welding, workmanship or deficient materials encountered during, or as a result of tests shall be cause for rejection of the trailers until evidence has been provided by the manufacturer that corrective action has been taken to eliminate the deficiency. Any deficiency found during or as a result of tests shall be prima facie evidence that all trailers produced prior to completion of tests are similarly deficient, unless evidence satisfactory to the contracting officer is furnished by the contractor that they are not similarly deficient. Deficiencies on all trailers shall be corrected by the contractor at no cost to the Government.

4.4 Inspection provisions.

4.4.1 Lot size. A lot shall consist of all trailers, submitted at one time for acceptance inspection, and manufactured under essentially the same conditions.
