MIL-S-62469(AT)
6.2 Order data. Acquisitioning documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification. b. Model(s) to be acquired (see 1.2).
c. Preproduction model(s) if required (see 3.1).
d. Initial production sample(s) if not required (see 3.1.1).
e. Whether welding repair is authorized and extent allowed (see 3.4.3.2). f. Need for reconditioning test vehicles (see 4.4.1.1 and 4.7).
g. Information to be shown on data plates (see 3.6.3). h. Selection of applicable levels of protection (see 5.1).
6.3 Sampling of trailers. Sampling inspection of trailers may be initiated by the production contractor only upon receipt of written authorization from the Government acquisitioning activity. In the event the Government authorizes sample inspection of the end item, the production contractor must then meet the sampling criteria specified in 4.5.4. Sample inspection of components or materials however, is at the discretion of the contractor. Such sampling must be in accordance with sampling plans of applicable military standards and must be part of the contractor Quality Assurance System approved by the Government.
6.4 Process average. Sampling may be initiated when authorized by the Government acquisitioning activity (see 6.3) and when the process average value for 20 consecutive trailers inspected is less than the AQL specified in the classification of defects for major and minor defects.
Process average shall be computed as follows:
Process average = Number of defects X100
Number of trailers inspected
If the computed process average exceeds the specified AQL, 100 percent inspection shall be performed and continued until such time that the process average for 20 consecutive trailers is less than the specified AQL.
6.5 Definitions of recurring major and minor defects. The Government Inspector will verify that a thorough inspection of each trailer is performed by the contractor not only for the listed characteristics (see tables IV, V and VI), but also for any other departures from good workmanship. The Government Inspector will assure that all deficiencies encountered during the inspection are enumerated on the deficiency sheet for the semitrailer. The defects noted on the deficiency sheet shall contain sufficient description to enable the Government inspector and the contractor representative to classify the deficiency in accordance with the classification of defects of the semitrailer specification and definitions contained in MIL-STD-105. Corrective action shall be taken for recurring deficiencies.
