3.3.5 Reliability and maintainability.
3.3.5.1 Mean-time-between-failure (MTBF). The mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) shall be at least 80 hours.
3.3.5.2 Maintainability. The ratio of the man-hours of maintenance to the hours of operation preformed shall not exceed 0.30.
3.4 Dump Semitrailer components. The dump semitrailer components shall be recommended for the rear dump semitrailer application by the component manufacturers and shall withstand the imposed static and dynamic loads under the operating conditions specified herein. At the option of the contractors, the semitrailer may be of the frameless or chassis-frame type. The chassis-frame may be fabricated of steel or aluminum. However, when and as specified with aluminum bodies or light weight semitrailers (see 3.5.(6) and 6.2), the type of dump semitrailer selected shall not exceed the maximum curb weight limit specified by the procuring activity. The dump semitrailer shall conform to all legal requirements and the maximum practical standardization requirements of table II.
