6.3  Gasoline.  The type II trailers covered by this specification are not intended for transportation of gasoline.  Federal and state vapor recovery requirements for vehicles transporting gasoline would cause a small 500 gallon vehicle to be equipped with many items that would far exceed in cost the benefits derived from the use of a 500 gallon trailer as opposed to larger vehicles (trucks and semitrailers).
