* 3.4.11 Stabilizer jacks. Four permanently installed, manually operated stabilizer jacks shall be provided. Two jacks shall be located at the front and two at the rear to permit four point stabilization of the trailer. The fully retracted stabilizer jacks shall not extend more than 89 mm (3.5 inches) below the trailer frame. With the trailer frame horizontal on level ground, the fully extended length of the front stabilizer jacks shall be not less than 25 mm (one inch) below ground level and the fully extended length of the rear stabilizer jacks shall be not less than
75 mm (3 inches) below ground level. A permanently mounted bubble level indicator shall be
furnished to determine when the trailer is in a parked level position. The level indicator shall be mounted at the front of the vehicle.
3.4.12 Tools. The vehicle shall be furnished with tools required for exchanging a mounted tire assembly with the spare assembly and shall include at least a hydraulic jack, jack handle, and wheelnut wrench. The jack shall be of such closed height as to permit its location under axle, or other satisfactory lift point, at any wheel with the tire flat. The jack, without blocking shall be capable of raising any wheel of the loaded vehicle to a height adequate to permit removal and replacement of wheel and tire assembly.
3.5 Body. The trailer body shall be of aluminum alloy construction. The arrangement of the longitudinal and vertical wall members, roof supports, door and window opening frames, including the body skin, shall provide a body framework free of distortions when subjected to the operating and performance conditions specified (see 3.2). Design and construction shall be of aircraft, riveted type.
3.5.1 Exterior. The exterior skin shall be of aluminum alloy and shall completely cover the underbody. All exterior joints and seams shall be watertight and weatherproof.
3.5.2 Interior. Interior walls and ceilings shall be of vinyl laminated to aluminum alloy, except that the interior upper end liners may be of molded fiberglass or
acrylonitride-butadiene-styrene (ABS) material.
3.5.3 Floor. The floor shall be of not less than 13 mm (0.5 inch) exterior grade marine plywood, covered with inlaid linoleum, vinyl linoleum or tile, or nylon or polyester carpeting.
3.5.4 Windows. Manufacturer's standard windows and screens shall be provided on the sides, front, and rear of the trailer. Windows shall be of tinted, double-pane construction. All joints and seams shall be watertight and weatherproof.
3.5.5 Door. A door opening shall be furnished toward the front on the curb side. The opening shall have a combination door and screen door, hinged separately, or shall have the screen in combination with a window, as part of the door. All joints and seams shall be watertight and weatherproof.
